Character Word of the Month

Kindness

Being kind is an intentional act that benefits others for its own sake when one is not required to do so. Kindness is generally regarded as a virtue. A kind person shows a genuine, deep, and selfless concern for people without expecting anything in return.

Kind people think about another person's feelings and not just their own, they help someone who is in need, and they are kind even when others are not.

Yolanda Renee King is an inspiring young girl who is the granddaughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the famous civil rights leader who fought for equality and justice. She was born in 2008 and, just like her grandfather, she speaks out about kindness, fairness, and making the world a better place for everyone. Even though she is young, Yolanda has already given speeches and participated in events to encourage people to treat each other with respect and stand up for what is right. She wants to continue her family’s legacy by spreading messages of love and equality. She believes that kids can make a difference, too, and she encourages young people to use their voices to help create a brighter future!
