Principal's Message

Thank you to our Staff and Students who showed their overwhelming support for the Warner Elementary School Community as we mourn the loss of Dr. Terrance Newton. Newt was an inspiration to students and staff across the district. Today, we honored him by wearing Blue and White.

SAT AND PSAT

The following College Board assessments will be administered to our students during the school day. Please make sure your child has his/her/their chromebook charged and ready for testing.

March 30, 2022-SAT- 11th grade students - If students are planning on having an early dismissal following the SAT, please bring the Early Dismissal Note to the office by Tuesday, March 29th.

April 13, 2022- PSAT10- 10th grade students

April 13, 2022- PSAT9- 9th grade students

To provide the logistics necessary to ensure a positive testing environment, some students will have asynchronous learning opportunities at home during these testing dates.

March 30th- ALL 12TH GRADE STUDENTS WILL LEARN REMOTELY (ASYNCHRONOUS)

April 13th- ALL 11TH AND 12TH GRADE STUDENTS WILL LEARN REMOTELY (ASYNCHRONOUS)

Please encourage your children to do their very best on these assessments as the results will give the school important data about college readiness and students and parents information about strengths, areas to grow, and potential college options.

On-Site Covid Screenings every Tuesday

In order to take advantage of the On-Site Covid-19 Testing, you must register your student up through the district resource.

  • Health Screening: Complete a COVID-19 self-screener prior to coming to school every day. Stay home if you are experiencing signs and/or symptoms of illness.
  • Hand Sanitizer Stations are available around the school.

Biotech Fair - Tuesday, March 29th!

The Biotech Fair will run in the cafeteria on Tuesday from 2:30-4:00. All are welcome to attend and check out our phenomenal student research and experiments!

TeenSHARP

This Saturday March 26th, 2022 from 9:00am-10:30am TeenSHARP (www.teensharp.org) is hosting a virtual panel with high school seniors who just completed the selective college admissions process called The Truth About College Admissions.

During the panel students will hear from seniors about preparing for college admissions, college selection process, college application process, and the importance of parent involvement from the lens of students who recently completed the selective college admissions process. We want students to learn as much as possible about what it takes to get into affordable colleges. This panel is open to the public and we are hoping you can join us!

No Hassle Fundraiser

We are so very fortunate to have an active PTO who supports our entire student body through various initiatives and programs. In order to continue to provide cherished experiences for students, they have created a "No Hassle Fundraiser." The No Hassle Fundraiser is open to any member of our community who can make a monetary contribution of their determination. Middle School Course Selection

Middle School Course Selection process for the 2022-2023 school year will take place during your child's Math class prior to Spring break. Mrs. Basara and Ms. Borges will present information about the courses offered. A google form will be sent shortly for students to enter their selections. We encourage families to take time to discuss course options before submitting your course selection.

Be Smart Program

Prevent Child Abuse of Delaware

Ms. Twilley from Prevent Child Abuse of Delaware will be visiting the 6th graders during their Science class on March 24th and March 25th to review important lessons about personal safety through the Be Smart program. Support Services

We recognize that parenting during the pandemic has been difficult and want to share some resources to help. Supporting Kidds offers a safe place for grieving children to not feel alone. Redwolves After School Academic Support Program

The Red Wolves After School Academic Support Program is designed to provide opportunities for middle and high school students in need of academic support, while fostering positive social interactions among students within their school and learning community. Middle school and high school students will have the opportunity to work with teachers for extra support in ELA, math, or general academic support and homework help.

The program will run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:30-4:15. · The program will wrap up on April 6th.

Parents/Guardians will have the opportunity to sign their student up on a monthly basis. Please use the link below to sign your student up for our March/April sessions.

SENIORS - COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID

All seniors must complete the FAFSA to be eligible for state and federal financial aid.

Applying for Financial Aid

  1. Student and Guardian(s) both create SEPERATE FSA IDs.

Academics and Clubs

Mrs. McDonald's 12th Grade English

Mrs. McDonald introduced the class to the Senior Speech requirements. Students will now spend time brainstorming, writing, and revising. The Senior Speech is one of Conrad's most anticipated traditions, as the students deliver them to the class as their Final Exam.

Mr. Teague's 7th Grade Science

The 7th Grade displayed some amazing creativity in the construction of a Phases of the Moon project. Fantastic job students! What a great way to demonstrate your understanding of how the moon appears to us on Earth throughout the lunar cycle.

Mr. Farside's Robotics & Engineering Class

Students were able to take their understanding of circuits and put it into application of a design of their choice. Some examples of student products included twinkling lights, operational fan, and even a radar detector.

Rock Your Socks Day!

In support of World Down Syndrome Day, as well as our Blue/Gold partnership with DFRC, Conrad Staff and Students wore their craziest socks on Monday, March 21st!

Support for Ukraine

Mrs. Gillin and Mrs. Ronaghan team up on C Day to show some support for the citizens of Ukraine. Thank you giving our students an opportunity to show compassion for those in Eastern Europe during this difficult time.

Dr. P Visits Morocco!

Dr. P has spent the past two weeks in Morocco as a member of the Fulbright Program. This phenomenal opportunity expands perspectives through academic and professional advancement and cross-cultural dialogue, while creating connections in a complex and changing world. Fulbright partners educators and students from over 100 countries worldwide.

Winter All-Conference and All-State!

Congratulations to our Student Athletes who were recognized as All-Conference or All-State Award Winners! Thank you for giving it your all and your recognition is well deserved and earned!

Spring Sport Competition has started!

Conrad Senior places 1st Overall in the State in Gymnastics

Ashley Glynn competed in the State Gymnastics tournament and placed first overall, competing in all four events! The Beam and Floor Exercise were her two favorite events, and they propelled her to achieving this well-deserved honor! Ashley will be attending Temple University in the Fall and will continue her Gymnastics Career.
