Kind
There have been lots of examples of children being kind to each other this week. Here are a few that we would like to share:
- Gareth for offering a puppet to a friend who was upset.
- Elsie for helping a friend outside.
- Freddie and Ethan for picking up coats and bags.
- Emrys for helping Dan pick up his bag when it was leaking.
- Eloise for choosing to come out of the block area when there are too many children in there.
- Izabelle for being a good friend.
- Leo for excellent focus during reading.
- Dylan, Evan, Lily, Saran, Isabel, Tomas G, Jake, Clinton, Kobe, William, Niamh, Connor, Layla and Taigh for fantastic effort and perseverance with their volcano explanation videos.

Our Best
Look at our wonderful week of learning. We are very proud of our children for trying their best and not giving up.
We are very proud to have had a 'Best Practice Case Study' published by the Welsh Government this week.
GWE (Regional School Improvement Service) recognised the excellent work by children and staff at Minera School and shared this with the Welsh Government. The case study highlights the excellent work in using assessments to improve learners' skills in reading at Minera School.

Covid-19 Arrangements after Half Term
Schools will move back to the Local Infection Control Framework. We are planning for Level 0 instead of ‘Very High Risk’. At Minera School, we will continue with a cautious approach due to the high number of positive cases recently.
There will be two main changes to our daily arrangements:
- Return to normal end of day collection times: 3:00pm for Foundation Phase and 3:15pm for Key Stage Two.
- Return to normal school uniform. Children can continue to wear PE kits and Outdoor Learning clothes on PE and Outdoor Learning Days. See timetable below for further details
Hopefully, the number of positive cases will continue to fall in school and we will be able to de-escalate the additional Covid procedures we have in school and return to normal school operations in the near future.
Welsh Week- 28th February to 4th March
After half term, we celebrate St David's Day on Tuesday 1st March. Everyone is invited to wear red for Wales on this day and children will be continuing with Welsh activities during the week.

World Book Day
On Thursday 3rd March it is World Book Day. However, this date clashes with our Year 5 and 6 Residential Visit to Nant BH.
We will be celebrating World Book Day in Minera School on Thursday 31st March instead.
Nant BH - 2nd to 4th March
Good luck to Year 5 and 6 who are going away after half on a Residential Visit to Nant BH. Look out on Facebook and Twitter for lots of pictures!
I would like to thank in advance Mr Barnes, Miss Davies and Miss Edwards for volunteering to accompany Year 5 and 6 on the residential visit.
