A Letter From Head Coach Carol Matsuzaki
Congratulations to senior captain of the MIT Women’s Tennis Team, Sarah Pertsemlidis (‘Perts’) for being awarded the ITA National Senior Player of the Year Award!
Perts has been instrumental in bringing the team to historic heights during her time on the team. The pandemic cancelled her first two seasons, but her junior and senior seasons have been phenomenal. Playing primarily at the top of the lineup in singles and doubles, she has led her team to a program high of #3 in the country, a third-place finish at the ITA Indoor National Tournament and two NEWMAC Conference Championships.
Aside from the incredible on-court accolades and achievements, Perts has been an amazing ambassador and representative for our team, for MIT, and for the sport. She is humble, charismatic, friendly, competitive, and someone who has had incredible fun playing college tennis. She puts all of herself into every match, and it has really been a tremendously fun experience for me to be her college coach. I am very happy to see her get national recognition for all of her efforts!
