Pedro Alvares Cabral was from Belmonte, Portugal, and explored in the year 1500.
Pedro Alvares Cabral explored for Portugal and his Patron was King Manuel I.
Pedro Álvares Cabral discovered Brazil in April 22, 1500. After a while in Brazil, Cabral sailed to India but had a tough time on the journey. A few of Cabrals ships were lost but the remaining ships made it to India.
When Cabral returned home he brought back diamonds, porcelain, pearls, and pepper as well as other spices. Cabral also gained some commercial treaties for Portugal.
Cabral left two degredados, who acquired native women and were the fathers of the first of Brazil’s mestizo population, which vastly outnumbered the Indians later in time.
