Meet the Team Initiative

Want to put a face to a name? Now you can. In the coming months, we will be sharing photos identifying different teams at the District Administration Centre and the Facilities and Transportation departments and more. Here's a look at the Maintenance Team.

Education Committee Meeting

At the Education Committee Meeting on Wednesday, June 1, the committee received presentations about educational partnerships with VIU; student satisfaction survey results; compassionate system leadership; new Canadian and refugee families for the 2022-2023 school year; and Indigenous focus graduation requirements. Special Board Meeting

At the Special Board Meeting on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, the Board directed staff to commence two 30-day public participation consultation periods:

  1. Renaming the NDSS community field to "q'unq'inuqwstuxw"
  2. Coal Tyee Elementary School name change to "syuwen'ct"

Pride Month

Pride Month is celebrated annually in June to commemorate and celebrate LGBTQ2 activism and culture. Check out Nanaimo Pride Society's Community Calendar for a list of events. Also, feel free to use the above banner as your backdrop for Teams.

Summer Reading Club

Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) hosts summer reading club for elementary and pre-school aged children. Applications are being accepted beginning June 21.
