Memphis 44, Southern Illinois 31 Tigers improve to 3-0 on the season with 13-point victory

Riley Ferguson completed 22-of-36 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns.

Ferguson completed passes to nine different players.

Shaun Rupert had the game's only turnover with a first-quarter interception (pictured above).

Anthony Miller hauled in a team-high six passes for 47 yards and a touchdown.

Tony Pollard, after Southern Illinois cut the deficit to three after a field goal, took the ensuing kickoff 100 yards for his fourth career kickoff return touchdown.

He now has two this season, which matches his total from 2016. No other player in school history has had two kick-off returns for a TD in a season, let alone in back-to-back seasons.

The Tiger defense held Southern Illinois to 103 yards rushing in the win, and just 393 yards of total offense.

Patrick Taylor had one of Memphis' two rushing touchdowns, and ended the game with 77 yards on 16 carries.

Darrell Henderson rushed 12 times for 71 yards (a 5.9 yard per carry average) and his third rushing touchdown of the season.
