Week 5 Term 2b

In Mantle this week we received another letter explaining that more items had been found around the mine. We predicted that it was more jewellery and researched if anything else similar had been discovered. We found out that a similar but larger version was a Celtic necklace that it was now in the British Museum!

After completing our report we discussed what we knew about the Celts. We were not sure when they were alive so made an ordered timeline from the dinosaurs to now. Year 4 were shocked that the Celts were in England during the Bronze Age. They thought they must have been very skilled to design such amazing jewellery during that time.

In art and DT we looked at a celtic mirror that had been discovered. We were amazed by the beautiful patterns on the back and designed our own using Celtic patterns.

In English we use the app ThingLink to predict what we thought would happen in the story of Arthur and the Golden Rope based on the front cover. Click on the buttons on our interactive ideas below to hear and read our ideas.

Arthur 1. Arthur 2

As we read the text we completed a emotion graph of how Arthur felt through the story. As you can see it was a very exciting story! We then wrote character descriptions of Arthur trying to use 2A sentences.

In Science we analysed our results from our experiment last week and drew bar graphs to show our results in a different way. Well done a year 4!

Well done to our stars of the week and golden book superstars! 🌟🌟
