Inuvil library was established in 1948.in the early times it was known as SRI GANESSHA VASIGASALAI.

Inuvil library has a long history of library service. the first library was established in 1948.It is well-stocked with all the books and reference books. Inuvil library have over twenty five thousand books.
books were donated by well-wishers. You can become members of the library by depositing a small sum of one hundred fifty rupees. Each member is given a card .They can barrow two books. The library is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5.30p.m.
The library is in charge of a trained librarian named Kobiga. She worked here since 2015.
there is a reading room .The daily newspaper and useful magazines are available in the reading room. A collection of historical interest books, a large selection of magazine and newspapers are available here.
An American leader once said "that he would not mind living in a country without a government but would not live in a country without its free newspaper" ,so news paper are the important source of knowledge. A news paper is also called a fourth estate of society ,so Inuvil library has news paper section. Here you can see old News papers.
There is a children library.it has more books and magazines suitable for school children. Children library has more than 1000 books.
they have reference section. Member is given a card. They can borrow two books at a time and are expected to return them within seven days. members who damage, tear or mutilate books are fined.
There is a leisure hall ,computer lab and study hall. This library building [IT] was completed and officially opened on 2013.Inuvil public library IT center is called Nenasala. In here they teach basic computer course for charge.
Although Inuvil library has limited facilities, I am proud of it. I am hopeful it will become full-fledged and well-provided as time goes on. A small town like Inuvil could not grumble or ask for more. We have to be satisfied with the minimum available and get the maximum out of it.
