Accupref is an application created for surgical technologists to have direct access to surgeon's preference cards.
My Personal Story
I am a Certified Surgical Technologist and have been for the last ten years. My job entails picking all the supplies and instruments needed for surgery, getting the operating room set up and assisting the surgeon with surgery. To pick the supplies for each case, a preference card, also called a pick sheet is needed. Preference cards are stored in a software only accessible to Registered nurses, but the surgical techs are the ones who usually pick the cases. This creates a problem when there is no nurse available. The idea is to create a medium where all surgical technologists will have direct access to surgeons preference cards at their own convenience.
The Problem
Surgical Technologists do not have direct access to accurate, updated surgeon's preference cards.
The Solution
The idea is an application to be used by surgical technologists for the purpose of having direct access to surgeon's preference cards.

Accupref's major competition are Surgical Information System, PrefCards and Procedure card.
Surgical Information Systems is a web based software used to streamline charts for high volume facilities, the major drawback is that these are more geared towards surgical centers and not hospitals,
Procedurecard is a tiered subscription procedure card application which allows the operating room staff 24/7 access to surgeon's preference cards.
Prefcards is a digital application that helps hospitals keep up to date with their surgeons preference cards.
