Fellow Tigers,
If you have not heard yet, I was recently promoted to become the Director of Operations for the Beechwood School District. Although, I am extremely excited about this opportunity to make a larger impact on not just grades 7-12, but the district as a whole - it is also bittersweet that I will be “leaving” the place I love and have loved for the past 8 years.
First, a thank you to all those who I have come to work with over the years (parents, staff, teachers, students, community, etc.). I have received nothing but positive support and encouragement from each. This has made my job and place in this community so enjoyable and fulfilling.
Most importantly, I feel that the high school (currently with its teachers, staff, and students) is in about as good a place as I could have imagined. The leadership that exists in each classroom, office, court, field, and hallway is a testament to the people who work and live their professional lives in those spaces. I am thrilled to continue to watch each department of teachers grow in their capacity to lead this school from within. I have messaged our vision and pushed for many initiatives while in my role as principal such as learners and leaders, the EDGE, The Beechwood Way, and the 3 P’s (Professional, Positive, and Progressive). Although I am proud of how consistent that messaging was to how I performed and what we were able to accomplish, it pales in comparison to the pride I have for the teachers, staff, community, and most importantly - the former and current students of Beechwood High School.
I am extremely excited to continue that messaging and forward thinking as I will be able to support and mentor (along with Dr. Schobel) not just the high school administration, but the district as a whole.
The Beechwood Way was established in my first year as principal and has stood the test of time (so far!), but “we are beechwood” came before me and will continue to be here long after I am gone. I am confident that we will see The Beechwood Way continue just as “we are beechwood” has in its ability to set a vision for what we do and how we do it.
This is not a goodbye, just a new way to make an impact at THE place that has made such an impact on me.
Go Tigers. wearebeechwood.
