Dear Parents/Caregivers

Our team greatly appreciates the positive community support we have received this term. We are grateful for the way everyone continues to adapt quickly to Covid-19 changes as we return to a sense of pre Covid normality. It is amazing to have all our keen learners back onsite. Today I'm very proud to report that we have 90% of our students at school. The school is buzzing with learning and lots of positive energy.

A huge thanks to our amazing dedicated staff who have run exciting learning programmes throughout the term. Our team keeps adapting to ensure all children are fully supported and nurtured through this challenging time.

Next term we hope to welcome the entire community back onsite. On Wednesday the 22nd of June we will hold our first Parent Teacher interviews in the school hall and we hope to return to holding full school assemblies from next month. We can't wait to share our children's success with you all.

Thank you once again for all your help and support.

End of Term One

The end of the term is fast approaching. Please note our last day of this term is Thursday 14th April 3pm . We look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 2nd of May.

Have a fantastic Easter holiday!

Learning in Action

This term has been full of great learning in every classroom. This month our Y3-Y6 students have been learning about financial literacy through the ASB Get Wise Programme

Thanks to team from ASB

This term our specialist teaching programmes in the senior school are in full swing with Miss Toops running our music programme and Miss Agafili running our PE programme.

This month Coach Matt from Auckland cricket provided our Y4 students with their very own cricket bat and ball. The students all had a fantastic time decorating and playing with their new gear! Thank you very much Auckland Cricket!

Learn to Swim Programme

This term we were fortunate to be selected for the John Walker Find Your Field of Dreams Foundation free swimming lessons at the Otara Leisure Centre through the Community Swim Programme. Community Swim is proudly sponsored by the Lion Foundation, Auckland Council, Potter Masonic Trust and Water Safety New Zealand.

A14 loved making Thank You cards for the team of dedicated swim instructors at Otara Pools and also the super friendly bus driver.

EPro8 Challenge Weeks

This term Year 5 classes participated in a series of design and construction challenges within their classroom. Year 6 classes will participate next term. These challenges are designed to promote science, technology, engineering and maths. Teams worked collaboratively to design and build amazing bridges, swings and vehicles. Their completed projects showed off learners amazing engineering skills. A huge thanks to the Ministry for Pacific Peoples who funded the EPro8 Challenge construction kits and resources.

HungerBall

Thank you to John Walker Find Your Field of Dreams Foundation who supplied a Hungerball arena at our school on Thursday this week. All Year 6 classes and a group of Year 5’s were lucky enough to play soccer and hockey in the huge inflatable arena. Super fun!
