Content Info For The Week

Math (Carver, Beasley, and Meeks):

Students will complete a variety of review samples to prepare them for the GMAS next week.

No homework this week.

Algebra I (Meeks):

Scholars will finish up quadratic functions units this week. We will be testing over the unit next week.

Read 180 (Styron and Barker):

This week in R180 students will continue to review and practice nonfiction reading comprehension skills and work towards meeting individual goals set within the R180 system by completing App segments and Independent Reading Work. The two part reading GMAS is scheduled for this week April 20th and April 21st.

ELA (MacArthur and Lee):

This week in Mr. MacArthur's class, students will continue to review for their Georgia Milestone testing on Wednesday and Thursday. Additionally, students will start writing their first draft for their informational papers.

This week in Mrs. Lee's class, we will be taking the 8th grade ELA GMAS on Wednesday and Thursday. Students have worked hard and are well-prepared for the test! In addition to taking the GMAS, students will also continue working on their informational essay over notable people from either the Civil Rights Movement or the Cold War.

9th Grade Lit (Lee):

This week in Mrs. Lee's class, we will be taking the 8th grade ELA GMAS. Students have worked hard and are well-prepared for the test! In addition to taking the GMAS, students will finish their reading of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

Science (Winkworth and Herndon):

This week studnets are continuing their review for GMAS. We will be focusing on Waves and Matter. Students will review their knowledge of EM Waves, Lenses, and how waves interact with the environment around us. Students will then shift to reviewing, Atoms, the Periodic Table, Molecules, Pure Substances, Mixtures, States of Matter, Physical and Chemical Properties and Changes, and finally Conservation of Matter

Social Studies (MacArthur and Collier):

Georgia studies will continue their look into the government, with an emphasis on local government this week. We will finish this unit mid week and begin our review sessions for the upcoming Georgia State Tests.
