1. Charter Updates
Big news: By joining the Global Shapers Community, you agree to live up to the principles, practices and values outlined in the Global Shapers Community Charter. Our Charter outlines the global standards that all members and hubs are responsible to uphold.
Our Charter has been updated for the year ahead. Review the updates to our Membership Commitments, Responsible Behaviour, Membership Cancellation, Hub Closure and more.
2. Meet Our Team
Our community is a non-profit organization registered in Geneva, Switzerland, and hosted at the World Economic Forum. To learn more about the roles and responsibilities of the Global Shapers Team at our headquarters, explore our Charter and watch the video below.
3. Shapers Summit
500 Global Shapers participated in the 2023 Global Shapers Annual Summit. Over three days, members sharpened their skills, formulated big plans and created coalitions to advance our six impact areas, including leading environmental action, accelerating reskilling, driving ethical innovation, and embedding equity into societies and economies worldwide.
While the summit has ended, our work is just beginning. Read the Highlights Report to see examples of local projects and global initiatives that will shape our activities this year. 4. SHAPEs
SHAPEs are regional events created by Shapers for Shapers. Save the date for upcoming SHAPEs throughout 2023! Registration will be available three months before each event.

5. Monthly Show
This month's Live Show will be broadcasted on Wednesday 12 July 2023 at 11:00 CEST and will feature Adwoa Bagalini, People and Culture Manager at the World Economic Forum. If you have ever wondered what it is like to work at the Forum, this is the episode for you!
Adwoa will share how the Forum is structured, what defines our organizational culture and how anyone can apply. Viewers will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the Global Shapers Annual Summit, Annual Meeting of New Champions, our hub leadership transitions and more!
6. Leadership Transition
Congratulations to outgoing Curators, Vice-Curators, Impact Officers, Council Members and Champions! Under your leadership, we grew to over 17,000 members and alumni in over 510 hubs. Together, you delivered hundreds of projects and advanced meaningful initiatives to strengthen our work around the world. With gratitude and admiration, we say thank you!
On 1 July, a new cohort of Curators, Vice-Curators, Impact Officers, Council Members and Champions began their roles. Thank you for stepping up to serve your hub and community! We wish you good luck as you begin this journey and look forward to working with you. Review our Official Guides to get started and create a strategic plan for the year ahead.
7. Twin Cities Initiative
Our Twin Cities Programme is inspired by the sister city concept and enables long-term partnerships between two city-based hubs. Upon the successful completion of our pilot in early 2023, the programme has now been deployed across all 510 hubs. Explore the programme's objectives and activities, as well as identify your hub's twin city today.
World Economic Forum Events
8. Annual Meeting of the New Champions
60 young innovators participated in the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin, People’s Republic of China. Together, Shapers contributed insights across diverse sessions focusing on the role of technology in addressing pressing challenges, including climate, cost of living, energy, health and food crises. Watch recorded sessions and read meeting outcomes, including the 25 high-impact initiatives that were launched by the Forum and its partners.
Impact Opportunities
9. Climate Grants
We have teamed up with The Climate Reality Project to support your hub’s climate project with $5,000 or $10,000 USD! Discover our grants and attend office hours to learn more. Submit a first round application for feedback before 28 July and final submissions by 11 September! For support, contact sophia.simmons@weforum.org and globalshapers@climatereality.com.
10. Annual Review
As a decentralized community, we rely on self-reported data to tell our story. All members are asked to complete our Annual Review before Sunday 16 July. Your insights and ideas will help us to better our community, create new experiences and attract partners to scale our work. By completing the survey, you could win a spot at next year's Global Shapers Annual Summit!

12. Investing in Restoration
The #GenerationRestoration Youth Hub, co-convened by 1t.org (an initiative of the Forum and the Youth in Landscapes Initiative), is excited to invite you to a virtual session titled "Understanding Investor Needs for Youth-Led Restoration Projects" on Thursday 27 July at 16:30-17:30 CEST. Save the date, add it to your calendar and join the session on TopLink.
