Greenland East 14 - 24 AUGUST 2018

Day 1 & 2 – 14 & 15 August 2018 After a rather rough crossing between Iceland and Greenland we entered the Scoresby Sound area with our first stop in the small settlement Ittoqqortoormiit.

Day 3 – 16 August 2018 We sailed further into Scoresby Sound - the largest fjord system in the world. In the evening we were surrounded by great icebergs, and we also saw 4 polar bears in the distance. An exceptional nice sunset gave us great photo opportunities!

Day 4 – 17 August 2018 Deeper into Scoresby Sound we found some amazing icebergs and the evening light was perfect for photography.

Day 5 – 18 August 2018 We had a great landing with muskox and icebergs in the background. In the evening we continued our iceberg cruising.

Day 6 – 19 August 2018 We started this day with an early sunrise landing, waiting for the sun to rise above stunning landscape. Later in the evening we had many great icebergs to photograph at sunset.

Day 7 – 20 August 2018 We continued our expedition to the famous "iceberg graveyard" where we had a memorable zodiac cruise among stranded icebergs. Some clouds in the evening gave us some dramatic sky.

Day 8 – 21 August 2018 We found more stranded icebergs this day, and had a zodiac excursion exploring the area.

Day 9 & 10 – 22 & 23 August 2018 Our Greenland expedition is coming to an end and we have to set course toward Iceland. After a successful Iceberg photo expedition in the Scoresby Sound fjord system we all had great memories and thousands of nice images to look through.

Our first Greenland East expedition to Scoresby Sound in 2018 was a memorable expedition with great landscape and light conditions, and also some wildlife. Thanks to our partner and guests who participated on this expedition!

Let us know if you want to travel with us on a similar photo expedition to Greenland.
