Horsing Around KRAHC Annual Summer Competition

We had the good fortune of spending one beautiful, sunny day over the weekend watching the KRAHC members compete in the first summer show and fundraiser of the season. Beautiful horses and showings all around.

Invited by my high school friend, Liz George...

And her partner, Doug Mileham of Mileham Show Horses...

... we enjoyed a full day of horse events, and a great home-cooked meal and bonfire in the evening.

Located in Bethany, Ontario, Saddlewood Equestrian Centre is home to over 120 horses, and specializes in summer horse camps for girls aged 6 - 16.

Well-schooled horses and ponies await riders of all skill levels.

In the Kawartha Region Appaloosa Horse Club (KRAHC) competition, there were entries as young as FOUR years old!

With so many horses in so many areas, I had lots of opportunity to roam around, and also capture the action in the main arena.

As the horses were released back into the fields after showing, they didn't just stand around, oh no. . .

They got up to their own horsing around!
