K9 Solutions Australia's "NePoPo® - A Lesson in Theoretical Practice" seminars held in Perth in October 2019 and February 2020 were huge successes and game changers for many. Get ready Melbourne, now it’s your turn.
We were chuffed when Brad Griggs of Canine Services International asked us to hold our "NePoPo® - A Lesson in Theoretical Practice" seminar in his home town of Melbourne. We think the future of dog training and superior outcomes are intrinsically linked with quality education, so we were more than happy to accept Brad's kind invitation.
NePoPo® is an excellent training system that aims to produce dogs who perform behaviours reliably, with their heart and soul, even when they'd rather not. Our NePoPo® theory seminar is open for all to attend, companion dog owners, trainers, IGP trainers, professional dog trainers, military working dog handlers, is suitable for all handlers from novice to expert and can be applied to all dogs from pet to working. Previous NePoPo® seminars held in Perth were great successes with participants thoroughly enjoying a deep dive into the theory of dog training, in particular NePoPo®.
NePoPo® (Negative Positive Positive) is Bart and Michael Bellon’s scientifically based system of training where the dog is taught it must do even when it would rather not. The system's goal is that the dog still performs without demotivation. This is achieved through the combination of positive reinforcement (which creates the hope and the love for the work) and negative reinforcement (which creates the reliability).
After attending Bart and Michael's NePoPo® Silver and Gold Schools (twice), we realised this system of training was superior to anything we had been exposed to before. We were that impressed, NePoPo® became integral to our balanced training approach. Canines trained with our system are being utilised by prison agencies, Police and Military, including tier one units within those agencies. We’ve taught and continue to teach NePoPo® to the industry, and now for the first time outside of Perth we will be presenting the full story to the general public. NePoPo® theory, in depth!
A note from Brad Griggs, Canine Services International
Hey there, I’m Brad Griggs and I’m the Founder of Canine Services International. I’ve been training dogs professionally for over 16 years...it’s my passion, my business and my hobby. I’ve worked hard to earn and maintain a respected reputation as one of Australia’s more capable, informed and forward-thinking dog trainers.
CSI is amongst the longest operating dog training and behaviour related businesses in Australia, and we are highly committed to coaching our clients towards outcomes that make life richer for dog and human alike. We’re proud of our history in this industry, our commitment to our craft, and we’re proud of the way we serve our clients by doing good work…together.
Based at our full time indoor training centre in Melbourne, we have provided seminars and coaching in every state of Australia to well in excess of 4600 humans…and more dogs that we can count.
NePoPo® has been around for years, and the old NePoPo® laid the foundations of some of the world’s most trusted and proven dog training systems used today. Whilst the new system is yet to be proven in quite the same way, it’s extremely interesting, and represents a quantum leap forward in thinking for the majority of dog trainers that invest in the education.
Ben and Jas are bloody good at what they do. From dogsports to LE/MIL/GOVT type work, they’ve got runs on the board in the dog training world that only a select few in Australia manage to ever attain. Though there are now many people qualified to teach NePoPo® branded seminars, there are very few anywhere that have the ability to do so from a background of such deep industry experience and specialist expertise.
The K9SA lads think a little differently about things to some folks, and this is a huge strength that they bring to the table when presenting their take on NePoPo®. This learning opportunity means you’re not only getting exposed to NePoPo, but also get the benefit of the understanding, interpretation and practical experience that comes with K9SA’s almost 30 years of combined professional and personal experience.
I’m personally very careful of the quality of information and instructors I invest time in exposing myself to, and with that in mind I plan on attending this event myself. I’m stoked for CSI to give this K9SA event a home here in Melbourne, and I whole heartedly encourage those interested in dog training, personally or professionally, to invest in attending this course.
I hope to see you there.
Four days that will challenge but not overwhelm, entertain but also teach. Interested in learning more? Send us an e-mail at k9solutionsaustralia@outlook.com if you have any questions. Old fashioned phone calls work too, so if you prefer to speak with someone directly, give us a call on 0411 229 149. If you don't get an answer immediately, we may be knee deep in dogs, so we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Please note this seminar is theory only (no dogs). Successful participants will be eligible to attend our NePoPo® practical component to be conducted later in 2020 (with dogs).

NePoPo® is the revolutionary dog training method created by internationally acclaimed and renowned trainer Bart Bellon, considered by many as the father of modern canine training.
Jason worked for 9 years as a qualified Military Working Dog Handler in the Royal Australian Air Force and was recognised for outstanding achievements throughout his defence career. His last role was as Kennel Master at the Royal Australian Air Force Canine Development Cell Program, which ran a large number of dogs at any one time.
