What an amazing term Spring Term has been. The children have continued to develop and grown in all that they do continuing to succeed. It was great to see so many of you in school yesterday as we opened the doors once again to welcome you in for a Parent Topic afternoon. We also had an e-safety talk, you can find the presentation here.

Next term we will be looking at the Value of - Our World United: Social Justice and Equity

Central to global citizenship is the idea that all human beings belong to a single human race, share a common humanity and are of equal worth. Hence they should all have the same basic rights and be treated accordingly. Yet beliefs about the superiority of different groups, and about which groups ‘belong’ and which do not, continue to be expressed through words, behaviour and systems – and these may even be reflected sometimes (albeit often unintentionally) in the practices

School life

This week saw Ben with his Orchestra of Objects visit school again as the children explored different ways to make sounds and create instruments using different objects. We're looking forward to designing some instruments that we are hoping to develop into instruments that Ben will create for outdoors.

This week Reception have continued to learn about shape and we been talking about directional language. If you would like to go on a shape hunt at home (looking for cubes, cuboids, cylinders, cones and spheres) or pretend to be a robot and respond to directional instructions (forward, backwards, turn left or right) during the Easter break that we be great. Reception have also been talking about Easter traditions and we have been sharing the Easter story.

Year 3 have had another exciting week! We have learnt about Nowruz, the Persian new year, and Hana Matsuri which we made a beautiful whole class cherry blossom painting for.

We welcomed our parents to the classroom and made a huge Iron Age village compete with roundhouses, animals, farm buildings, water sources, and of course people to inhabit the new homestead.

We have continued to work hard in English and maths, writing a discussion about whether break times should be extended - we all concluded they should be!

We enjoyed a silent disco to celebrate the end of term and think we definitely have the best rock moves in school! Any contenders are welcome to challenge us to a dance off!
