COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

LICENSING YOUR DOG HELPS ENSURE PUBLIC SAFETY

Rabies is a fatal but completely preventable viral disease. Dogs and other animals can pass this disease to each other and to humans through bites and scratches. To protect the health of the community, adult dogs must be vaccinated at least every three years (for more information on younger dogs click here). The City’s requirement to license your dog helps ensure that all dogs in the community are up to date on their vaccines. To receive low-cost vaccines, you can make an appointment with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for one of their Saturday vaccine clinics. Vaccine clinics are coming up on April 2nd, 9th, and 23rd. Appointments are required. Dogs must be licensed within 30 days of adoption or moving into the City. Do not forget that the new licensing year begins on July 1. For more information visit the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society.

PARKS AND RECREATION

EASTER EGG HUNT AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST

Get ready for the Easter Bunny who will make an appearance at Temple City’s annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 16 at Live Oak Park. The event brings together all members of the community for a fun, family-filled morning that will be sure to create as much excitement for the adults as it will for the kids. The pancake breakfast kicks off the event at 8:30 a.m. Meanwhile, over 10,000 eggs will be scattered across Live Oak Park for multiple egg hunts, based on age. Other children’s activities include arts and crafts and inflatable obstacle courses, as well as a visit and photo with the Easter Bunny.
