At the age of 13 Pope Leo became the cardinal. He studied theology, and canon law, at the University of Pisa. In 1492 he was apart of the Sacred College of Cardinals. When Pope Alexander got elected Leo moved back to Rome for the conclave. A conclave is a meeting to elect the pope. Leo was exiled from Florence, in 1494.
Pope Leo X helped provoke the Reformation, in the sixteenth century, since he was the Pope he rebuilt his family power base. At 38 years Pope Leo completed the Julius papacy
