“Leaving Home” ENd of a chapter

Ms. McCoy and Sister Delores are leaving Mercy this year. They are ending their careers leaving Mercy with memories to always remember.

Ms. McCoy has been working at Mercy for 45 years. Even though McCoy has a love for Mercy she attended St. Edmund Catholic High School in Iowa.

Ms. McCoy has had many accomplishments while at Mercy including the opening of the gym in 1989, the dedication of the Catherine McAuley statue, and winning the state volleyball championship as the head coach.

Ms. McCoy’s favorite memory and accomplishment at Mercy is seeing the seniors graduate, “Watching the seniors walk across the stage at graduation and taking their next steps into the future.”- McCoy

For next year Ms. McCoy hopes to see enrollment to continue and to see success in the classroom and in extra curricular activities.

Sister Delores has been working at Mercy for 14 years. She attended a public high school in a small farming communtiy.

Sister Delores’s favorite memory was her very first Mercy Day and feeling at home with the Mercy community.

Sister Delores’s proudest accomplishment while at Mercy is seeing the growth in Mercy girls and watching them become who they are.

Next year Sister Delores hopes to see, “Mercy filled with young women who have a faith filled spirit of service working towards potential, while having a little fun!”-Delores
