“It’s great to see Gary and Daryn be recognized after all the work they put in during the off-season and during the season,” head coach Chris Harney ’97 said.

Alexander, who was named United East Player of the Week on January 31, is notching his first-ever all-conference honor. The 6-2 guard currently leads the Seahawks with 2.9 assists per game and 1.9 steals per game while ranking second with 10.9 points per game. He scored in double-digits nine times, including a season-high 18 points twice against Gallaudet University (Jan. 25) and SUNY Morrisville (Feb. 4).

This is Grant’s second all-conference award as he was named to the 2020 All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Second Team. The 6-4 forward was also voted the 2020 CAC Rookie of the Year. He is currently fifth in the United East with a .779 free throw percentage while coming in eighth with 6.1 rebounds per game.

Averaging 10.2 points per game, Grant posted 12 double-digit scoring games plus a pair of double-doubles, including season-bests of 18 points and 12 rebounds in the 85-77 win at Morrisville (Feb. 4).

In its inaugural season in the United East, St. Mary’s College will battle for the 2022 United East Conference Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament title this weekend at No. 1 seed Lancaster Bible College.

The third-seeded Seahawks will take on No. 2 seed Penn State Harrisburg on Friday, February 25, at 7:30 p.m. in Lancaster, Pa.
