A Message from the Principal - Welcome back to a new school year! We are off to a great start! Our students have started to learn the school routine. We are working to build class community and instill our core values of kindness, perseverance and respect. Our core values are a crucial part of our teaching and learning. We will continue this journey throughout the course of the year. Our teachers are implementing the TSD curriculum and delivering instruction in the classrooms. Thank you for your cooperation in supporting our staff while helping us create a positive environment and community! Our PTO has been working hard to get the year started! Our first mission is to kick off the Schroeder Jogathon and make this a fun event for our students while raising money for the school. Money raised will help our PTO provide enrichment activities and learning for all students. Please read the information below regarding our Jogathon Fundraiser. It is approaching soon! PTO Meeting - We have a General PTO Meeting on Tuesday, September 20th at 6:00pm in our media center. All parents are welcome to attend! It would be great to see you there! Please consider getting involved and help our PTO. Please look for PTO Meetings throughout the year. We hope you can join!
Schroeder Clinic Volunteers Needed! - We are looking for volunteers during lunch period (11:50am - 1:20pm) to help out in our office clinic. You would be providing basic first aid and some TLC (cleansing scrapes, minor cuts and applying band aids, taking temperatures, etc). Schroeder Spirit Wear – We are excited to announce that we are having another Schroeder Spirit Wear Clothing Sale! Many families have asked to purchase more items! You may want to look for a few new items added to the catalog. Also, remember that we now have Schroeder Spirit Days every Wednesday. Every Wednesday, students and staff wear Schroeder gear or green clothing. Show your Schroeder spirit!
Families can order Schroeder clothing online through the Varsity Shop (located in Birmingham on Adams Road). Please make sure that you read the information completely when you submit your order. Since parents order directly through the Varsity Shop, Schroeder Elementary is not responsible for incorrect orders or defective clothing items. Click the link below to place your order.

- Online Store Closes: Wednesday, September 21st at 11:59pm (The store will NOT reopen due to late orders.)
- Picking Up Your Order: The Varsity Shop will send an email when the order is complete. Orders will be picked up at the Varsity Shop.

Attendance Line - If your child will be late or absent from school, please make sure to call the Schroeder attendance line at (248) 823-3601. It is important to call and leave a message before 9:00am. Also, please understand that informing the classroom teacher is helpful, but not enough. We also need parents to call the attendance line.
IPad Information
Annual Student iPad Responsibility & Optional Insurance Form (All Students) - All families must log-in to the Powerschool Parent Portal and complete the Student iPad Responsibility form. This form must be completed every year. The optional insurance form is also available in the Powerschool Parent Portal. The form and ability to opt-in for insurance will close on November 30th. Once the window closes, only students new to the district will have the option to purchase insurance for the current school year.
- Kindergarten Families - Please note that all kindergarteners will be receiving iPads this year. The TSD Technology Department is planning for an end of September/early October roll out. Occasional Menu Changes - Please be aware that Food Services' daily menu may change with short notice. Food Services continues to experience delays in deliveries and is working hard to minimize these disruptions. Thank you for your patience.
Students in Miss Pertler's class had a fantastic first week growing with Dragon Dens and enjoying some outdoor discoveries!
