Spring Term 2b week 4

In maths we have children working on level 2, level 3 and level 4 key skills. The children try to improve their scores every week.

Nilofar and Krystal are working on level 4 key skills. I am very impressed.

Our daily practise maths tasks this week have been mental subtraction.

The children love doing Magic Link Handwriting.

Riley and Evelyn always notice when the clock shows quarter past and quarter to the hour and half past. When we all look at the clock we always say a stem sentence to help us tell the time.

Stem sentence: When the minute hand is on 3 it is always quarter past.

In spellings this week we have been learning the tricky Reception high frequency words.

Stephen has carried on working with an injured arm. What a Superstar!

Riley keeps getting full marks in the daily times table challenge on the iPad. It is lovely to see his smiling face.

In maths we have been using the inverse of addition is subtraction.

In maths Data and Measure we have been looking at bar charts and finding ‘how many more’ or the ‘difference between’ two numbers, using subtraction.

Some lovely sentence level work this week linked to our text.

Riley is fantastic at noticing details in the pictures. He likes to share what he has found out. Riley can take the book home next week and read it at home with his family.
