Overview:
It's that time of year again. Vans is holding their annual Custom Culture contest. We will be spending the next 2 to 3 week creating ORIGINAL custom designs. You will work in assigned pairs. Each person will design the left or right shoe. Your shoes can NOT be exactly the same. They should complement each other. They can even tell a story. You will use a complementary or split complementary or monochromatic color scheme.
All your designs must be Original. You can NOT use any public figures orcopyrighted material.
Objective:
Real world design experience. To learn to work in pairs. Help your school's art program keep on going.
Instructions:
This is your brainstorming sheet or mind map.
- Make sure you and your Partner are brainstorming together. Your shoes can NOT be the exact same design. Your designs should complement each other. They can even tell a story.
- Research Vans shoes.
- Research what kinds of fashion are trending.
- Research Vans custom culture winners.
- Each person will be making their own mood board.
- Use Adobe Capture to help you and your partner come up with a color scheme.

- 5-6 Inspiration Pictures
- 2-3 References of the type of Vans shoe template you are using.
