Canada in 2050 tHIS PROJECT WILL GIVE YOU A IDEA OF WHAT CANADA WILL LOOK LIKE IN 2050. THE MAIN POINTS THIS WILL BE FOCUSED ON WILL BE POPULATION,IMMIGRATION AND FIRST NATIONS.

Demography

From 2006-2011 The highest amount of people in Canada where born in India and the lowest amount where born in the USA. Right now in Canada there are 1,400,685 First Nation people in Canada.

In 2012 Canada's birth rate was 2 children per woman. But more and more people are wanting to have 1 child or no children at all so I predict in 2050 that the birth rate for Canada will go down. In 2014 Canada's death rate was 7 deaths per 1,000 people. In Canada there seems to be more people that are 40 and up than younger people, so I predict that in 2050 the death rate will slightly go up because of the high amount of Older people.

here are population pyramids from 2014 and 2050. you can see the trend that there is still a low amount of young people but the amount of older people is growing.

Immigration

for immigration i found a few trends that will effect it in 2050. the first trend is fewer children per immigrant. in Canada more and more people are wanting to have one child or none. so in my opinion i think that when immigrants come to Canada they are going to want to start working and get a job rather than having kids. my second trend is that immigrants are wanting to have high skilled jobs. more people are coming to Canada and wanting to have high skilled jobs like health care workers, financial management and information technologists. immigrants study back home and have to acquire at least 67 out of 100 points and when they come to Canada they look for high skilled jobs. another trend is that Canada population is predicted to move towards the west by 2050. places like Alberta and Saskatchewan will overtake the population in British Columbia by 2038, Alberta and Saskatchewan will have the highest migration.

this map shows the immigration to canada from 2001-2011.

first nations in canada

As for first nation people in Canada there's two trends i found that will help predict how first nation communities will be in 2050. The first trend is population projection. the number of first nation people in Canada grew by 25% from 2006-2011. in Canada there where 799,010 first nation's people in 1996, ten years later there where 1,172,790 people. i think that in 2050 the amount of first nations people will grow judging on how the population grew 1996-2006. it is predicted that the population of first nations in Canada could range between 1.7 and 2.2 million in 2031. so by 2050 i think it would be between 2.5 and 2.8 million. the second trend is that most of the first nations people live in western Canada. the places that they live in western Canada are British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. it is predicted that in 2050 that the western part of Canada is going to grow in population and a lot of people are going to migrate there. so i think since the majority of first nations live in the western part of Canada, the rest of the first nations that live in the other parts of Canada are going to migrate to the western part of Canada.

Video

this video shows how Canada's population is affected by migration and immigration. also it talks about the rate of population growth and the factors affecting population growth.

conclusion

so in conclusion I think that in 2050 there is going to be a lot of changes . changes like fewer children, more immigrants wanting to have high skilled jobs, the amount of elderly will increase , population moving to the west part of Canada, and first nations population projections.
