Geography

Location

Sweden is located on the Scandinavian peninsula. Finland is on its right and Norway is on its left. The Baltic Sea is separating part of Norway from Sweden. Denmark is located on Sweden's southern tip.

Climate

Sweden has a pretty mild climate. The climate is influenced by the Gulf Stream. Sweden's many lakes and the Gulfs of Bothnia also give Sweden its mild climate.

Physical Characteristics

Sweden has two large lakes. The Vanern and the Vattern. The two lakes are liked by canals. It's boarder with Norway is covered in the Scandinavian mountains. Also known as the Kolen or Kjolen Mountians.

Population

Sweden has a pretty small population. It has 9.593 million people. Most of Sweden's people live in the south near Denmark. Some people live in the south east as well.

Culture

Traditions

Sweden has many extravagent traditions. They have everything from a traditional Christmas to Crayfish parties. Some other ones are Food Semla, Waffles Day, and Midsummers Festival.

Religions

Most people in Sweden are Christian or Eastern Orthodox Christian. There are still a large amount to Islams and the remaining people are either irreligious or belong to a smaller religion.

Languages

The majority of people in Sweden speak Swedish. Swedish was not Sweden's official language until 2009. The minority languages have been legally recognized to protect the cultural and historical heritage.

Food

Sweden has many different tasty foods. The usually have three courses. Some of the most enjoyed Swedish delicacies are Swedish meatballs, Raggmunk, Kroppkakor, Gravlax, and Toast Skagen. Raggmunk are pancakes made using potatoes. Kroppkakor are potato dumplings. Gravlax is a dill cured salmon. Toast Skagen is toast with whitefish roe.

Small Birds Can Kill Too!

Synopsis

The mean farmer never shared. So one day the bird decided that he needed to fight back a get some food. The bird tricked the farmer. The farmer killed the oxen by accident and the then bird gained his long lasting revenge.

Typical Characteristics

Special Beginning

The beginning starts with "Once there was."

"Once there was a farmer who was so stingy that hewouldn't even let a small bird eat its fill."

Good Character

The bird was the good character because all he wanted was some food.

Bad Character

The farmer was the bad character because he was being selfish and mean.

"The farmer picked up a rock and threw it at the bird."

Royalty and or Castle

No royalty or castle. This story took place on a farm.

Magic

"The bird slipped right into the farmers stomach, and that was the end of that cheapstake of a farmer."

Problem

The bird was starving because the selfish farmer wasn't sharing his fill.

There were three times when the farmer tried killing the bird but all of them were unsuccessful.
