Driving is different in Malawi. In these remote villages, there are cases where our WWFA 4x4 trucks and vans barely make it through the rugged terrain to get to water wells and inspection sites.
Roads are also very difficult, and there are some cases where even trees must be trimmed just to get a car though.
We also tried to avoid driving in the pitch darkness of the night, as this makes navigation of the rugged roads nearly impossible in the bush -- but there were case this could not be avoided.
The vehicles we had also had to be utilized to beyond max capacity to get WWFA team members to where they need to go. In one case we actually managed to fit over 14 people into a truck!. This is how driving looks in Malawi (please do not try this at home)!
So, while we were bumping around from village to village, we were still very thankful for the transportation that we did have so that we could be part of getting clean water to people in need! Always be grateful for smooth roads and running water... :)
We'd love to have your help in getting more water to more people. Every amount helps. Nothing is too small. Thank you!
