Edgewood SEL Introduces Hope Squad at EMS and EHS
The SEL department has been working with the newly nominated Hope Squad members. As a new club we are making sure to take the time to educate the students and parents involved on the goals and expectations of being a Hope Squad member. Both EMS and EHS have completed the nomination process for new members and we are looking forward to working with these students to help spread kindness and hope throughout the district. High School Hope Squad Advisor Jessica Hollinger talks with the EHS Hope Squad during the Student Orientation.
Intervention Curriculum for Struggling Readers
This school year our teachers are in the initial implementation stages of Sonday System I and II. This system offers structured, systematic, multisensory reading intervention for readers. Each lesson plan uses proven Orton-Gillingham methods to provide effective intervention in small-group settings.
K-8 Math Curriculum
Edgewood has implemented Envision Math in all K-8 classrooms over the last year. Envision is a nationally recognized and most effective math series that is used in thousands of classrooms. enVision® focuses on deep conceptual math understanding aided by visual models, student-centered projects, 3-act tasks, and personalized learning. Comprehensive vertical alignment helps schools and districts address all mathematical standards in the most effective way.
