We just wanted to say how proud we are of all of the Year 6 children for their hard work and positive attitude towards the SATs last week. We are also very proud of the Year 2 children who have completed their assessments this week. Well done everyone!

YEAR 6 EDEN CAMP TRIP

RECEPTION EMERGENCY SERVICES TRIP
Yesterday, the Reception children went on their first school trip. They visited the National Emergency Services Museum in Sheffield. They took part in a workshop and were able to get hands-on with a variety of historical objects. They also explored the museum, tried on uniforms and were able to get on board emergency vehicles.

NEW MEMBERS WANTED TO RESTART GROUP
It would be a massive benefit to the children if we could restart the Friends of Parkside PTA group. With parent volunteers we could put on more events and experiences for children to enjoy as well as raising money for additional resources in the school.

TOYS & BOOKS WANTED
We are looking at starting to offer toys and books at our pre-loved clothes and uniform events. To get us started, donations of good quality items would be very welcome. Toys, puzzles, books and boards games would all be appreciated. So if you are having a tidy and sort out over the half term break, please feel free to bring in any donations when term restarts.
We will let you know more when this launches, but the items will be available to take home for free from the pre-loved events. You do not have to have donated an item to take one,

The East Riding Parenting Centre for Excellence is currently reviewing the local parenting offer across the whole of the East Riding. Our team are collating information from services across the Local Authority and partner agencies to identify good practice and any gaps in the support provided to families. We also want to hear from you. Our families are at the heart of everything we do, so we want to know what we are getting right for you and if there are any areas you feel we could be better at meeting your needs from a parenting point of view.
By completing this survey, you will be supporting us to have a baseline understanding of how the Centre for Excellence can develop the current offer for parents, so we can build on the expertise of our workforce to offer extra support, information, and guidance right where you need it.
We welcome surveys from all parents/carers/grandparents etc so please share with others within your child’s family.

TAKEOVER FESTIVAL
Junction Goole are thrilled to announce their upcoming Takeover Festival, in partnership with Marshlands Primary School, exploring the theme of Tropical Nature. They are excited for another successful year and are looking forward to bringing together the community to celebrate the beauty and diversity of the natural world. All events are completely free!
The festival will be held on the weekend of 15-21 May and will feature a range of activities and events for all ages. There will be interactive exhibits showcasing the flora and fauna of tropical regions, as well as workshops for African drums and face painting.
They are also excited to feature live theatre and acrobatic dance performances from Scarlet Oak Theatre and RoguePlay Theatre. There will also be a chance to meet some flamboyant, funky birds with Creature Encounters.
They invite all members of the community to participate in this exciting event. Whether you are an artist, musician, or simply someone who loves nature, there is something for everyone at this year’s Takeover Festival.

There is a dedicated area on the council website where families can access the Cost of Living – Help for households. This is designed to help people who need financial support, or are struggling to manage. They provide a range of services that might help, alongside government and community support.
