Competition in New-York in 2019, participant of the Los-Angeles International Piano Competition in 2018, Rose Award Scholarship Winner of Kansas City Alumnae Chapter Sigma Alpha Iota Competition in 2018, Kansas City Musical Club Sholarship Winner in 2018, 3rd Prize Winner of the 22rd International Piano Ennio Porrino in Cagliari, Italy in 2013, 2nd Prize Winner of the International Piano Competition for Young Musicians in Enschede, Netherlands in 2006, the laureate of International Programme UNESCO “Young Virtuoso of XXI Century”.

As a collaborative pianist she was taking a part in international competitions such as II Russian National Competition in Moscow, XV Tchaikovsky Violin International Competition, Hudson Valley Competition, Frances Walton Competition, Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition, Naumburg International Violin Competition, Young Artists National Competition in New York.

Evangeliya has been playing in prestigious venues for classical music performances such as Alfred Cortot Hall and Hall Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, Hall of the palace the UN in Geneva, Enschede’s Musical Center in Netherlands, Italian Conservatorio di Musica “Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina” in Cagliari, Latvian Academy of Music in Riga, Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society in Vilnius, Austrian Russian Culture Institute in Vienna, Athens Conservatoire in Greece, The Embassy of Russian Federation in Tokyo, The Embassy of Russian Federation in Washington, D.C., Baruch Performing Arts Center in New York, Zipper Hall of the Colburn School in Los-Angeles, Amarnick- Goldstein Concert Hall in Boca Raton (FL), Historical Raymond Theatre (WA).

Also she is a constant partner and collaborative pianist of her husband Igor Khukhua, the violinist with worldwide recognition. Other career highlights include appearance live on the Kansas Public Radio and on Seattle’s Classical music radio station, Classical KING-FM 98.1. Evangeliya was a member of jury of the Musica Piano Competition in 2019.

She has been employed as collaborative pianist at the Moscow State Bolshoi Ballet Academy of Choreography and as accompanist at the Vocal Department of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

Suzzana Lee

(Vienna Music Institute Faculty)

Cellist Suzanna Lee began her cello and piano studies at the age of seven. While attending the Orange County School of the Arts, Ms. Lee studied under Dr. Richard Naill at the Colburn School of the Performing Art in Los Angeles. Ms. Lee performed in masterclasses for the Jupiter String Quartet, Anthony Elliott, Matt Haimovitz, Johannes Moser, Peter Stumpf and Paul Watkins. At the Peabody Institute, she was selected to perform with faculty members Alison Wells, Alan Stepansky, Michael Kannen and Hyunah Yu for the Sylvia Adalman Chamber Series. Ms. Lee was awarded 2nd prize for the 2019 CCM Chamber Music Competition, 1st prize CCM John Adams Competition, 3rd prize Korea Times Music Competition in Los Angeles and 1st prize Honors Trio Ensemble, where she performed live on KUSC classical broadcast “Sunday’s Live.” She was a member of the American Youth Symphony in Los Angeles and also served as a co-principal in the CCM Orchestra. Ms. Lee completed her bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in the studio of Alison Wells and Alan Stepansky. Ms. Lee received her master’s degree under Yehuda Hanani at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. For the 2019-2020 season, Suzanna was selected to be a graduate assistant for the chamber department at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. She pursed an Artist Diploma degree with a full scholarship under the Ariel String Quartet.

Sangwon Cho

(Vienna Music Institute Faculty)

Sangwon Cho studied in Wien Stadt Konservatorium in Vienna, Austria. He studied with world renowned cellist and composer Andreas Lindenbaum, a pupil of the famous cellist Janos Starker. During his time in Europe, he performed several solo concerts. Also, he played as a member of Strauss Symphony Orchestra, Wien. At an early age, he was selected as a protege solo performer and soloed with Taegu Symphony Orchestra. He then moved to the US due to family matters and was offered a full scholarship from UCI to study with Dr. Maggie Parkins, a member of the Academy Award-winning chamber ensemble, the Eclipse trio. Mr.Cho also studied recording and composition at USC and UCI. Since September 2017, Sangwon Cho has severed on the faculty member at Vanguard University, teaching cello and chamber music.

Garrick Soohoo

Born in San Francisco, Mr. Soohoo began violin lessons at the age of four. His former teachers have included Zaven Melikian and Daniel Kobialka. He is a recipient of the Merit Scholarship at the University of Southern California where he earned his Graduate

Certificate under Eudice Shapiro and Suli Xue and earned his Bachelor’s of Music at the University of California, Irvine under Haroutune Bedelian. He has been on faculty at Vienna Music Institute since 2007 and currently resides in Irvine, California.

Hui-Ling Hsu

(Vienna Music Institute Faculty)

Hui-Ling Hsu, violist, began her music study in Taipei when she was five years old. She was the winner of the Taipei Viola Competition and a prize winner of the Viola Competition of Taiwan. Ms. Hsu completed her Master’s degree and Artist Diploma at San Diego State University where she studied with Chi-Yuan Chen, the Principal Violist of the San Diego Symphony. She has participated in master classes taught by Kim Kashkashian, James Dunham, Steve Tenebom, Helen Callus, Daniel Phillips, and Colin Carr.

Ms. Hsu is also a passionate educator. Many of her students are winners of competitions and honor ensemble participants, such as American String Teachers Association (ASTA), Southwestern Youth Music Festival (SYMF), National Association for Music Education’s (NAfME) All-National Orchestra, Music for All’s Honor Orchestra of America, CODA All-State Orchestra, SCSBOA All-Southern California Orchestra, Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra, and Irvine Honor Orchestra. Ms. Hsu has taught as a faculty member of the Irvine Music Festival since 2019.

Ying-Chen Tu

(Vienna Music Institute Faculty)

Ying-Chen Tu is a professional musician who held a tenured position in Evergreen Symphony Orchestra in Taipei, Taiwan, and she has performed in major concert halls in Boston, Taiwan, Macao, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Vietnam, Japan and Australia. Ms. Tu received her Master of Music degree in viola performance at Boston University with full scholarship and served as a teaching assistant. Later on, she came to LA for her Graduate Certificate in University of Southern California(USC) with full scholarship to study with renowned violist Che-Yen Chen.

Throughout the music journey, she especially loves to share her music knowledge with students. Ms. Tu has been teaching both violin and viola for more than 15 years. She enjoys working on small details, and seeing students smile when they make progress. She is good at communicating and she is easy going and flexible. She can always bring new ideas to her lessons.

Shirley Chang

(Vienna Music Institute Faculty)

Shirley Chang received her degree in violin performance at Indiana University (Bloomington) where she obtained extensive training from renowned pedagogue, Mimi Zweig. She obtained her MM and DMA from the University of Washington School of Music, writing her dissertation on The Suzuki Principles of Violin Teaching.

Mrs. Chang has had a wide range of performing experiences. She has held concertmaster positions at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute (under Alexander Schneider) and the Saddleback Symphony Orchestra, assistant concertmaster with the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra and has appeared as soloist with the Moorpark College Orchestra. Mrs. Chang’s orchestral experiences further include collaborating

with Pacific, Long Beach, Ventura, Santa Barbara Symphony orchestras as well as the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra.

Throughout the last two decades, Mrs. Chang has been sharing her love of music by teaching beginning to advanced students in individual, group, and chamber music lessons. Her students have received such honors as being finalists and medal recipients in the MTAC Bach Festivals and VOCE competitions.

Kayoko Adachi

(Vienna Music Institute Faculty)

Kayoko Adachi, violinist, is originally from Japan, graduated magna cum laude from UC Irvine where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in violin performance under Prof. Haroutune Bedelian. In recognition of her musical and scholastic achievements, Kayoko was awarded Rawlins and Tierney Scholarships and completed her graduate studies under full fellowship, as well as being a winner of the concerto competition.

Since graduating from UCI, Kayoko worked as a substitute of Pacific Symphony, joining their first European tour in 2006, Opera Pacific, Riverside County Philharmonic and other area symphonies.

As a concerto soloist, she was invited to Japan to perform with Ensemble May and Ensemble Viva Voce.

As an active chamber musician, Kayoko performs annually in duo recitals with pianist Junko Nojima, and in solo violin recitals. She always enjoys expanding her repertoire, exploring hidden veins of musical interpretation and understanding.

Jefferson Xavier

(Vienna Music Institute Faculty)

Born in Brazil, Jefferson Martins began his studies in the São Paulo Municipal School. In 2008 Mr. Martins was appointed principal cello at São Paulo University Chamber Orchestra, during this time he had the opportunity to perform with respected musicians such as Leo Brower (Classical guitarist), Tim Fain (Philip Glass’s violinist), Kirk Trevor ( conductor), and many more.

In 2013 Mr. Martins was featured as the Soloist with the Guarulhos orchestra after being awarded the first prize in the Soloist Competition 2013.

Mr. Martins attended masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Lynn Harrell, John Waltz (principal cellist at LA Opera), Ko Iwasaki, Martin Chalifour (Principal Concertmaster of the LA Phill), and Nathan Cole (Assistant Concertmaster of the LA Phill).

As a chamber musician, Mr. Martins was appointed as the cellist of the Olivier Toni String Quartet, a string quartet named after the Brazilian composer Oliver Toni whom he studied music interpretation . In 2015, Oliver Toni String Quartet won the Revelation Award Prize by the Arianna String Quartet. Consequently, the String Quartet was appointed for a Residency at the PRIMA Project (founded and directed by Alex Klein, Former Principal Oboe of Chicago Symphony) in Joao Pessoa - Brazil

During this time, all of the members of the Oliver Toni String Quartet taught private and group lessons for children and teenagers in eleven different cities; focusing on Strings, Chamber Music, and Orchestra.

Igor KhuKhua

(Guest Violinst)

The Russian born violinist Igor Khukhua has been recognized internationally for performances of charismatic temperament, bright musical expression and sparkling technique.

He has won international acclaim as an outstanding young soloist, recitalist and chamber musician having already achieved top prizes in numerous international violin competitions. He has received multiple grants from major foundations.

Igor Khukhua was born in Siberia in 1992. He started playing violin at the age of 4. Igor was eight when he won the First Prize at the Russian String Competition. Since 2011-2016 he studied at the Moscow State Conservatory (BM, MM) under Professor Eduard Grach and has been an artist with the Moscovia Orchestra. In 2016 he successfully won competition and was offered a full-time position in the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra (Artistic Director –Yuri Temirkanov), but has refused the offer and has left for study to the U.S.

From 2016-2018 Igor pursued an Artist Diploma in Violin Performance in the International Center of Music of Park University (Parkville, Missouri) under professor Ben Sayevich. Since 2018 he has been a permanent substitute violinist in Kansas City Symphony Orchestra as well as a Violin Adjunct Teacher in the ICM of Park University. In 2022 he won audition in the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.

In 2019 he was awarded the Third Prize at the Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition in Boca Raton, FL. In 2018 he won First Prize at the Naftzger Artists Competition in Wichita, KS. In 2017 he was awarded the Second Prize at the Hudson Valley Philharmonic String Competition in New York. In 2015 he was a participant of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition. In 2014 he received Second Prize at the 2nd Russian National Music Competition in Moscow (Russia). In 2012 he won the Grand Prix at the 4th International Violin Competition in Astana (Kazakhstan).

Igor has presented numerous solo recitals and has played as a soloist with orchestras in Russia, Israel, Croatia, Poland, German, France, and United States.

Reina Cho

(Vienna Music Institute Alumni)

Reina Cho, 21, began playing the cello at the age of 6 and is currently studying at the Juilliard School of Music with Darrett Adkins. Her past teachers include Sangwon Cho, Jacob Braun, Stanley Sharp, and Sarah Koo. Reina served as the co-principal of the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra for two years. She has received awards from competitions such as Spotlight Music Award, LA Violoncello Society, and

YoungArts. Reina performed in a world premiere of Paul Dooley's Concerto Grosso for piano trio and sting octet at the Carnegie hall with Trio Celeste. She has also performed at the Hollywood Bowl alongside Pink Martini. Reina has attended the Aspen Music Festival and the Center Stage Strings summer camp as a scholarship recipient for 5 consecutive years.

Sena Cho

(Vienna Music Institute Alumni)

Nineteen year old violinist Sena Cho moved to Switherland when she was sixteen to study with renound violinist Renaud Capuçon at the Haute École de musique de Lausanne. She is currently in her second year of masters. She was the winner of Osaka International competition in 2019.

Before moving to Lausanne, she has studied with Danielle Belen and Robert Lipset at the Colburn academy in Los Angeles California.

While she was studying in Los Angeles, she was featured on the radio show From the Top and collaborated with various artists for videos.

She has played with various Orchestras and performed with her chamber group in Lausanne.

She is fluent in Japanese and French. After finishing her masters in Lausanne, she wishes to pursue a second masters in Paris France.

Paul Gong

(Vienna Music Institute Student)

Paul Gong is 15 years old and is currently in 10th grade. He has been playing piano for 10 years, and he has received state honor for CM level 10, 2nd and 3rd prize in the 2021 Satori Summer Festival Competition, 3rd prize in the 2021 Piano League Piano Star International Competition, and 1st prize in the 2021 Charleston International Music Competition.
