Historic Ranch Gift Largest In University's History

The historic H.R. Smith Ranch near Campbellton, Texas, has been gifted to the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Foundation for the benefit of and to be managed by the King Ranch® Institute for Ranch Management (KRIRM).

“This is a unique opportunity for KRIRM students to have the ability to conduct applied research on a ranch managed by the Institute,” said Clay Mathis, Ph.D., Director of KRIRM. “This is what we do and what we train them for. Adding this valuable component to their education will not only strengthen their skills, but also set them apart from other ranch management students.”

The Hector and Gloria López Foundation Awards $1.4 million Grant to TAMUK 

The Hector and Gloria López Foundation (HGLF) announced a $1.4M grant to provide full tuition assistance for 15 first-generation Latino students at Texas A&M-Kingsville — creating pathways to educational attainment and a pipeline to a successful career.

LATINA Style Inc., the premier company addressing the needs of professional Latinas in the United States, named Javelina Alumna Roxanne Ramirez '80 as Entrepreneur of the Year for San Antonio at its 25th anniversary of the LATINA Style Business Series conference.

Ramirez and her family also established the CNF Technologies Scholarship in support of students at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Congratulations, and thank you for all you do for Javelina Nation!

University Hosts President's Legacy Celebration

Texas A&M University-Kingsville held the President’s Legacy Celebration at the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Center on April 1, 2023, with over 150 alumni, faculty, community members and university supporters in attendance.

This event, previously known as the President’s Legacy Ball, recognizes and honors the newest Legacy Society members for their incredible generosity to our students, faculty and programs. Members of the Legacy Society are individuals, corporations and foundations who have contributed $100,000 or more, cumulatively, to Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

Longtime university supporter Jo Ann Hees, wife of the late Harold Hees ’61, was presented with a bronze javelina statue at the event to recognize the Heeses as a lead donor during With You. Without Limits. The Campaign for Texas A&M University-Kingsville, which concluded in 2021.
Career Engagement Hosts Javelina Education Expo

Career Engagement hosted the Javelina Education Expo on Tuesday, April 4th, allowing the nearly 100 students in attendance to meet, network with, and gain valuable insight from an incredible 70 employers in the education field!

Javelina Cheer Places 3rd At Nationals

The Javelina Cheerleading team traveled to Daytona Beach, Florida, to compete at the NCA Collegiate National Championship, where they brought home the 2023 Spirit Rally Division II 3rd place title!

Carr Named LSC Co-Hitter of the Week Following Historic Weekend

Following a historic performance, Javelina Softball's Breana Carr was named the Lone Star Conference Co-Hitter of the Week as announced by the conference office in a press release.

The Kingsville native earns the honor after becoming the first player in program history to hit for the cycle while posting a .636 batting average and six RBIs with a slugging percentage of 1.182 in the Javelinas three-game sweep of UT Permian Basin.

Texas A&M-Kingsville wrapped up the AVCA Small College Beach National Championships as the Third Place Finisher in the Silver Bracket!

Omar Gonzalez Named New Head Coach of Javelina Men's Basketball

Omar Gonzalez has been named the 17th head coach of the Texas A&M-Kingsville men's basketball program as announced by Javelina Athletics on Wednesday morning.

Gonzalez takes over the program after serving as an assistant coach for former head coach Johnny Estelle at TAMUK for the past five seasons as the Javelinas posted a record of 54-26 in that time aiding the Javelinas to three NCAA Tournament appearances (2020, 2022, 2023).

Head coach Johnny Estelle of the Texas A&M-Kingsville men's basketball team will be stepping down from his position to take the role of assistant coach at the University of North Texas. Read more at the link below.

The Office of Student Engagement and Campus Life is hosting a Heritage Heroes display to highlight ones that reflect the great culture, heritage, and success of Texas A&M University-Kingsville and now, our community!

We’re currently accepting nominations for Hispanic Heritage Heroes. Our theme is UNIDOS: Connecting to Advance. We're looking for individuals that have made it their mission to connect with others and advance the Hispanic culture and society.
