Franklin and Marshall Residence Hall Renovations

Over five summers, RLPS provided renovations and upgrades to seven residence halls on the Franklin and Marshall campus.

The condensed renovation schedule of 11 weeks during summer breaks required nimble planning so students would be able to return in time for the fall semester.

An extensive pre-construction process that began at the conclusion of each prior phase was involved with design efforts.

Through budget conscious planning and phasing considerations, the total project was completed on schedule and came in under budget.

Because the student population is now more diverse than ever, special consideration was taken to add all gender, ADA accessible bathrooms. These bathrooms share sinks, but provide separate, private toilet and shower areas.

Excessive doorways and partition walls were also removed or reworked, creating a more open, welcoming space. To add to student comfort and improve operational efficiencies, MEP systems were upgraded.
