GoodLuck Electronic pop BAND

BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, GoodLuck is a group of live-electronic musicians, pop producers, songwriters, entrepreneurs and philanthropists. As one of the countries most successful exports, the band has been touring the world since 2012 with a clear focus to use their music as a force for good.

GoodLuck's music is madly diverse and continually evolving, it seems the trio of Jules, Ben and Tim are never satisfied with resting on what they have achieved. Since the band's inception, GoodLuck has reached 23 x Top40 radio singles, 9 charting number one singles and performed 1000’s of shows around the world.

GoodLuck always seems to be on an adventure - from recording an entire album in the Namibian desert powered entirely on solar power - to reinventing some of their biggest hits with an 11 piece swing band, there seems very little this trio won't turn their hand to, to make magic.

GoodLuck fans are devoted and the band have sold out shows across South Africa, The UK, Germany, The Netherlands, Namibia and Vietnam. They founded and produced their own summer festival series Get Lucky Summer that has grown to sell around 25 000 tickets every year. You’d understand why there’s such ardent support when you see their live show. Simply put, it’s crazy. I would challenge anyone to try and not dance when GOODLUCK is performing. It is high-energy, high engagement and a whirlwind of saxophone, keyboards and the maddest array of electronic instruments that all create a backdrop for a strong female frontwoman.

In some ways GoodLuck are the biggest best-kept secret. An act who’ve held their own alongside some of the top artists in the world (like Pharrell Williams, Groove Armada, Martin Garrix, Lost Frequencies, Basement Jaxx, Jungle and more) and still control the underground hype of the undiscovered gem.

As GoodLuck prepare for the next phase of their career, the band keeps true to the core of who they are and why they exist. "We know that if we keep writing great songs that can help people through all the chaos in life and if we can keep us all dancing... everything else will fall into place."

I've Been Thinking About You

I've Been Thinking About You released on Ultra Records and Sony Music the song

What Next [2020]

'What Next?' is a plea for change that challenges listeners to consider what our future will look like if we continue on the same path of disregard for the environment.

RUM & COLA [2020]

GoodLuck team up with Dutch ‘Stap Voor Stap’ hitmaker, Kav Verhouzer to bring a pre-Summer hit to cheer us up during these difficult times. Rum & Cola is, just as the name suggests, a song about keeping it light and enjoying the simple things in life.

GOODLUCK UP CLOSE ALBUM (UNPLUGGED 2021)

"It's a breath of fresh air to hear songs that aren't overproduced, they are just real, honest and suit this time of self-reflection so perfectly." - The Hippy Baldwin

When lockdown hit the world GoodLuck had 5 tours planned to Asia, Germany, The UK, The Netherlands, and Australia. After going through every emotion from panic to enlightened self-discovery, GoodLuck headed back into the studio and decided it was time to try something entirely different. Handpicking some incredible musicians from Cape Town they started to reimagine some of their biggest hits in a more relaxed, acoustic form. Jules's smoky voice set against these intimate, jazz-inspired acoustics are exactly what the world needs right now.

BIRD OF PARADISE [2021]

After a short hiatus from releasing electronic music, GoodLuck has returned with what will prove to be their biggest hit single to date. Bird of Paradise is a powerful, evocative gender anthem that pushes boundaries for the band and the entire electronic pop genre. Working with Grammy-Nominated Producer Dimitri Tikovoï, who carved his career producing records for artists like Placebo, Charli XCX, Becky Hill and Blondie, the song was born at Buspace Studios in West London. The band connected with the accomplished French producer and wrote the song together while on tour in London.

JUNE ft Ice Prince [2022]

In the search for the Summer sun, many in the Southern Hemisphere look to escape the cold months and holiday up north - which in turn, calls for a Summer track to shade the Winter season. Welcome ‘June’, the song that everyone is needing right now - a first-time collaboration between SA’s electronic favourites, GoodLuck, and Nigeria’s Rap Star, Ice Prince. This is a collaboration between two of the biggest artists in their respective countries, South Africa and Nigeria. Ice Prince is one of Nigeria's most successful legacy artists, releasing music since 2011. Their first-ever collab tells the story of someone who has been waiting for JUNE, the relief of being able to head outside into the sunshine and get away on vacation. GoodLuck & Ice Prince are released this song on the 1st of June 2022 to celebrate the end of hardship and the start of a beautiful Summer where people connect, dance and celebrate life in the sunshine from around the world. The beat is a crossover from Afro-beat & sprinklings of Reggaeton to Western Pop music. It is catchy and primed to be a major song in Nigeria, Europe & the rest of Africa this year.
