Making friends and happy memories. Reception Week 1 - TErm 1a

All of the class are in together. It was great to see them altogether.
The start of the week was a bright and sunny one. Reception came into school with huge smiles on their faces ready to make new friends and old ones. It has been so lovely to see new and familiar faces, what a great start.
We got used to the different areas of the setting. This year it has changed a little, we are more open and share more space with Nursery, this means we make more friends and have more adults to work with. We explored the outside of our new school, we picked the blackberries that were growing. We used some to make different coloured foam to write in. We also tried them as well, though some were a little sour!
Chatting, investigating and exploring. A normal day in Reception. Theo counted the spots on the blocks as well as the amount of blocks in his tower. Great conversations about the animals in the zoo, the lion seemed to be eating lots of animals.
Lots of activities that support the development of our fingers, palms and wrists, all of this will help us to become brilliant writers.
Reception have enjoyed staying for lunch, they were extremely grown up. Patterns were completed, writing was produced as well as very funny faces.
The girls were so proud of their dance moves. We were listening to nursery rhymes different shapes and actions were added- it was really sweet to watch. In the exploring area Thomas and Hugo were measuring distances to the plane on the rug, they also used the sign posts to show different directions. There were also some brilliant builders and designers. Following the Lego images to inspire and make. Clement was proud of the squirrel slide he had made.
