Digital Design 2 Portfolio catherine fox

I created these mandalas in the Procreate app on my iPad. These two were my favorites of the seven that I created. The one on the right is my favorite of these two as I really like the way that I contrasted all the negative space with thick black lines. I had some trouble figuring out how to use Procreate at first, but I really enjoyed it once I understood how to use it!
These are the two French Incorporated objects that Lucy and I created. The one on the left is our French Wrench, which we created to fit a 24 mm nut and bolt. We had some trouble sizing our wrench, but we both felt that our final design was very ergonomic and fit perfectly. We then made our group logo in Adobe Fresco and cut in in clear acrylic.
This is my five-layer design depicting an arctic fox diving into the snow. My favorite aspect of this design is the hidden mouse in the snow that the fox is pouncing on. When finding videos and images of arctic foxes jumping into the snow, I found that they were pouncing because they sensed the movements of mice under the snow. As humans, we cannot see these mice which is why I really like that you can only see the mouse in certain lighting if you know it is there.
These were my first three designs created with the laser cutter. I drew each of these designs on paper, by tracing the outlines from my iPad and then I cut each of them separately. The two on the right are Taylor Swift allusions, with the middle design being the outline of her head from her Style music video and the one on the far right being the iconic Folklore cardigan. I also added butterflies and flowers to the center design as I feel that they reflect some things that I love.
These were the first drawings I created on the Procreate app on my iPad. These designs were really meant to help me explore this new tool, but I really love the colors that I ended up using.
This was the face I created on the Adobe Fresco app for iPads. I had some problems when starting to use Fresco as there were many different options for colors and brushes. It took a lot of time to get used to, but I really like the outcome!
These are the two personal logos that I created. I had some trouble with the design on the right because of the way the lines looked. At first, the lines were much too thin, so I attempted to make them thicker. When I did this, the lines overlapped in very odd ways creating the weird layers that can be seen in the picture. I didn't have time to fix this, but I actually like the way they look. I think they add to the design as the design is meant to represent my family, and family is never perfect. To represent my family, the outlines of every shape create the initials of all my immediate family members.
