The event, in honor of Women’s History Month, will be held virtually on Zoom on Tuesday, March 29th from 1-2pm.
An Equity Through Art Webinar: Filipinx Kwentuhan, or Storytelling, is taking place on Thursday, March 31st from 6-7pm. Flags at Half-Staff through Sunday for Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright
Flags in the City have been lowered to half-staff in honor of the former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 84. They will remain at half-staff through Sunday, March 27. See below for a portion of the President's Proclamation:
Madeleine Albright was a force. She defied convention and broke barriers again and again. She was an immigrant fleeing persecution. A refugee in need of safe haven. And like so many before her — and after — she was proudly American.
As the devoted mother of three beloved daughters, she worked tirelessly raising them while earning her doctorate degree and starting her career in American diplomacy. She took her talents first to the Senate as a staffer for Senator Edmund Muskie followed by the National Security Council under President Carter. And then to the United Nations where she served as United States Ambassador, and ultimately, made history as our first woman Secretary of State, appointed by President Clinton. A scholar, teacher, bestselling author, and later accomplished business woman, she always believed America was the indispensable Nation, and inspired the next generation of public servants to follow her lead, including countless women leaders around the world. Madeleine was always a force for goodness, grace, and decency — and for freedom.

Brisbane Parks and Rec Awarded Funding from San Mateo County’s Summer 2022 Enrichment Grant Program
The focus on the County’s 2022 Enrichment Grant Program is on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of youth through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. Specifically, the funds will expand trainings for childcare staff to support SED (Social Emotional Disability) students, such as in the area of physical education, the purchase of STEAM project kits and supplies, and other added enrichment opportunities, so campers can develop new interests and build new skills. Thank you, County Board of Supervisors, for awarding this grant in support of Brisbane’s youth!

According to the County Health Department's data dashboards, Brisbane has had 611 confirmed historical cases. Brisbane resident Amrit Lall has been keeping track of the cases released per week, and let us know that Brisbane recorded only 2 new COVID-19 cases this past week, one less than last week.
Recent studies show that vaccine protection wanes over time, especially for people 65 and older. So if it's been more than five months since your second or third dose, please first make sure you're fully vaccinated and boosted, and then continue taking precautions such as wearing a mask if you find yourself in in crowded outdoor or indoor settings.
