Wilson ITA National Coach of the Year
Chad Berryhill from Saint Leo University has been named the 2023 Wilson ITA National Coach of the Year.
Coach Berryhill has had yet another tremendous season leading the Saint Leo Women's Tennis Program.
Early in the spring, Saint Leo made the Finals of the 2023 ITA National Team Indoors for the first time in program history and stayed within the top four of the ITA Team Rankings for the entire season and reached as high as No. 2 this season.
Coach Berryhill led the team to the Regional Final of the NCAA Tournament and had wins over No. 4 Lynn, No. 5 Flagler, No. 9 North Georgia, No. 10 Indianapolis, No. 13 AUM, No. 21 Grand Valley State, No. 23 West Florida, and No. 24 Washburn.
Outside of the tennis program, Coach Berryhill created and developed a USTA Community Tennis Hub where he ran many tournaments, Pizza & Play events, and a free clinic day that was attended by 60+ members of the community. He also connected with the Saint Leo community and brought in tennis alumni and community members to support his teams.
Berryhill is also a frequent member of many ITA Coaching programs and is very active within the Saint Leo athletic department, assisting and mentoring other coaches, teaching classes for the University, as well as leading a Men's Tennis program.
