7th Grade Peek of the Week Week of May 1, 2023

For those that signed up, the Atlanta Field Trip is May 3rd.

Content Info For The Week

• ELA (Helsel): Scholars will continue with reading their chosen novels, completing their Literature Circles.
• Read 180 (Phillips & Hester):This week scholars will take their final SRI assessment on Tuesday. This will be their chance to show their growth for the school year. Scholars will be studying how resistance to change can be dangerous. They will also study the different types of irony.
• Math (Fulton): Students will be experimenting with paper airplanes this week and using the data to calculate speed. We will also preview the 8th grade standard Pythagorean Theorem and creating a project.
• Math (McDonald & Harvey): We will be reviewing previous units. **Please send in any EMPTY 2 Liter bottles you may have with your scholar. We are collecting them for an end of the year project. We also need barbies for this Friday! Thank you!!
• Science (Newton): Scholars will model the flow of energy through an ecosystem using Food Chains and Food Webs. We will also explore Trophic Cascades. Performance Task near the end of April and Unit Summative in early May.
• Social Studies (Ferreira): Students will begin learning about Southern and Eastern Asian features and enviromental issues.
