One of the greatest Sunday nights of the year, not only in awards but in fashion. So let’s jump into some of the most talked about, most liked, and the most stylish looks on the red carpet of the special award night in 2023.
Malala Yousafzai
Malala is absolutely killing this red carpet in this beautiful silver dress that just screams fashion. For this being her first Oscars red carpet she definitely left an impression.
Michelle Yeoh
Michelle Yeoh looks nothing short of stunning. The dress is such an angelic white with a glittery sheer neckline which makes the look so much more glamorous. She also has some of the best accessories that just add a little more to that glamour that her dress already brings.
Tems
You have probably heard about Tems’ dress already by its big collar causing a bit of controversy around the appropriateness of wearing it to an event like the Oscars, but in my opinion its one of the best looks of the whole night. Despite the dress having its blocking issue, it is everything you want and more in a red carpet look. It’s dramatic, stylish, it’s simple yet grand. It is by far one of the best looks of the whole night.
Rihanna
After Rihanna’s iconic announcement of her second pregnancy durning her Super Bowl Half-time show, she chose to show it off durning her red carpet look. This dress not only shows off her baby bump but also her incredible sense of fashion with a gorgeous mixture of mesh and leather.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge
She is taking the stage at the red carpet in this simple yet beautiful gown. The shinny necklace really ties the old school glamour with the fitted sheer lace corset. Overall a classic stunning look.
Cara Delevingne
Now this is a red carpet look. This dress is absolutely stunning from the color to the shape. It is so dramatic and has so much personality despite it being one color. One of my favorite looks from the whole night.
Salma Hayek
Hayek’s dress is such a fun and creative choice to wear to such an event. The holographic copper color really makes this stand out on the carpet, and definitely leaves you asking “Who designed this dress?”.
Dwayne Johnson
This is one of the best suits of the night, worn by the one and only “The Rock”. The soft pink really stands against all the standard tuxedos, along with the small flower detail on his lapel. He is absolutely killing this red carpet look.
Harry Shum Jr.
Shum’s suit is one of my personal favorites of the night. He is wearing a fabulous suit that isn’t just black and white. The design and cut of the suit really makes you intrigued and wanting to know where he found such a garment. Overall a great look.
Fan Bingbing
This is dress is astonishing in every way . It has sparkles, it has drama, it just looks so put together and right. She nailed this red carpet looks to a T.
Sandra Oh
How could I do this review without including this iconic dress worn by Sandra Oh. This is such an amazing look. She looks classic yet modern, stylish yet different. This is such a beautifully cut dress and really brings such an elegant and different style to the red carpet.
Florence Pugh
Another iconic look of the night is Florence Pugh’s breathtaking gown. Despite it not being a very typical dress this dress still managed to look amazing on Pugh and she really pulled it all together with the shoes and the accessories. A very influential look of the night.
Halle Bailey
Bailey completely amazed everyone on the carpet with this beautiful ball gown. The blue tule just looks so good on the carpet and really matches her upcoming premiere as Ariel in the live action remake of The Little Mermaid. This looks is the definition of ethereal.
Samuel L. Jackson
Last but not least we have Samuel L. Jackson in a classic silver suit. It is admirable to see a look like this where it is not a basic tuxedo but it isn’t something too crazy. It might not be the best but it is one to remember.
