Honors students are required to attend one cultural event per semester. For 2021-2022, due to the ongoing pandemic, they were all movies you could watch via streaming.

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (Feature film based on a true story about race, class, and the first immortal human cell line used for pioneering medical breakthroughs)

Minari (Oscar winning feature film about a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream)

Student-Led Discussions
In the spring semester, seniors in the program lead discussions at honors meetings on the topics of their choice.
Senior honors student and Psychology major Kylie Meyer led a discussion on Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy.

Honors Seminar Spring 2022
Dr. Craig Hammond offered HIST 003 The American Nation: Historical Perspectives. The course examined the founding period of United States history along with the American Revolution and analyzed modern popular rhetorical portrayals and misconceptions about the founding of the country.
Research and Student Engagement Expo 2022
The honors students presented a total of 13 projects at the Research and Student Engagement Exposition. The Expo was back in person this year, with students presenting their research on posters in the Athletics Center.

Ally Albert (BBH), Meredith Carter (COMM), Laurel Cowling (BBH), Abigail Kane (EDU), Michel Nafash (BBH), Sarah Offen (BBH), and Elizabeth Schachte (BBH) all won awards for excellence in information literacy for their Research Expo projects. Each student won a $50 prize.
