The puppets are nearly finished

The children are now coming to the final stage of designing and making their puppets. Over the past few weeks they have planned their designs and worked incredibly hard going through the different phases working towards the end product. The puppets are now joined together and next week we will add the finishing touches.

We have continued looking at the four seasons and we began the lesson by looking at what the weather was like on that particular day. We discussed if it was usual/unusual for that season. We then looked more closely at each season, thinking about how it would look as well as the clothes we would wear.

This week in history we looked at what the shops would have looked like when Tom was a little boy and compared them to today. We looked closely at the shops from the past and labelled each one. We also explored if there were any shops on the old map that are not on the new map.

The children have enjoyed making harvest baskets this week and thinking about the meaning of Harvest Festival to Christians. We also talked about harvest being a really important time for farmers where they collect the crop from their fields. 🌾
