8th Grade Information

We are currently looking for sponsors for our Camp Morrow trip. If you know a person or business that would like to be a sponsor, feel free to ask for a letter from Miss Brenda. All sponsorships are tax deductible.

8th graders will also be raising funds for their Camp Morrow trip through our annual Rock-A-Thon. Save the date for March 16th! All money raised from the Rock-A-Thon will go directly towards the Camp Morrow trip.

Our goal for Camp Morrow is $10,000. If the 8th graders meet this goal, Miss Brenda will dye her hair seven different colors (think rainbow)! You heard that correctly... and it'll be done after spring break where she will rock it proudly through the rest of the school year!

We'd like to remind everyone that prior to departing for Camp Morrow all 8th graders will need to be in good academic standing, good behavioral standing and owing no school fees (lunch account, library books, etc.). If you have any questions regarding the academic/behavioral expectations, please reach out to Ms. Matocha at mary.matocha@amity.k12.or.us. For school fees, please reach out to Miss Brenda at brenda.whiteley@amity.k12.or.us.

We're still looking for parent volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering (cabin leader, kitchen help) at Camp Morrow, please contact Miss Brenda at brenda.whiteley@amity.k12.or.us.

School Fees/Winter Sports

All students are required to pay a student body fee of $15. Your student will receive their student body card and will be welcome to attend student body activities as long as their student body fee is paid.

Sports fees are $50 per sport with the exception of Trap Team (clay shooting). Information for Trap Team fees will be made available upon sign ups. These payments are required prior to the first competition.

Track sign ups are open from Monday, February 27th through March 9th. The sign up sheet will be at the office. Track is available for 6th-8th grade students. The cost to participate is $50. Practice is currently scheduled to start after spring break. The season goes until the beginning of May, usually.

Any athletes participating in sports must have a current physical and a signed code of conduct on file at the office. The code of conduct is found on the last page of athletic handbook. If you are unsure if your athlete is ready to go, you're welcome to contact the office.
