Kindergarten Roundup is a Success
We had a great Kindergarten Roundup this week, where we had the opportunity to meet many of our incoming, 2023-24 Kindergarten families. If you know of someone in the neighborhood with a child that will be entering Kindergarten in the fall, please let them know that now is the time to sign up! Understanding how many kindergarteners we'll have is an important piece of information for us to ensure that we're planning well for our youngest students. 3rd Graders Study and Learn from the Lives of Michigan's Indigenous Peoples
As our third graders investigate Michigan History, one of their topics is the lives of Michigan's Indigenous Peoples, the first people that lived in our great state. Mrs. Kathy Joffre visited and helped our students explore the history of Native Americans in Michigan. Our students enjoyed tasting maple sugar and learning to use the drill bow. They also studied arrowheads and other artifacts. Thank you, Mrs. Joffre, and grade job third graders!
No School Next Friday, February 17
Remember: there is no school for students next Friday, February 17. That will be a PD day for teachers, and no school for students.
Spirit Day
Adams Elementary and the Adams PTO were saddened to hear of the passing of Tamara Chalk, previous Adams parent, volunteer, and friend. Her family has asked for donations, in lieu of flowers, in sympathy and support of her family. If you knew Tamara and would like to contribute, you may drop off a check (payable to Adams Elementary PTO) or cash at the office through next Wednesday, February 15. We will issue and deposit one check to the fund, or you may write your check to the family, provide cash or visit their page here.
