Working Groups NORTH AMERICA LEADERSHIP SUMMIT 2016

Working Groups are at the core of our community Summit. Together, we will all roll up our sleeves on a range of projects. They are meant to build upon ideas from the Creative Catalyst Talks and form tangible outcomes to drive forward the AEL and broader Adobe education communities on the Education Exchange and in person.

There are four Working Groups with general topics already collectively decided and two open groups. The descriptions below only offer a rough framework of questions and ideas to consider in shaping the outcomes from these groups, so please come prepared with your own thoughts and ideas! We are making sure to share this early so that everyone can begin thinking on these topics and how you can contribute before the event. Working Groups will meet on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

AEL Page Design

With the AEL pages on Adobe.com now moving to EdEx, how will the AEL group present itself to the larger EdEx community? This group will work on designing how the AEL page can be something that is active and not just static. There is so much rich content from your personal blogs and lesson plans that circulate the Facebook group, on emails, and through Behance, how do we bring this to EdEx and benefit the whole Adobe education community? What else can AELs say, do, share through their page to show their leadership in the community? Ideas of an end result could be a design/wireframe/presentation/concept for the new AEL page.

Adobe Regional Meetups

How do we empower the Adobe education community to self organize and meet up more frequently in formal and informal settings? This group will learn from and build off of the work that Mark Dubois has started in his own region to bring together Adobe educators. Let's develop a program and plan for how our community can come together face-to-face to share ideas, best-practices, and discuss creativity in the classroom and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

Pathways, Roles, and Responsibilities on the Education Exchange

The Education Exchange is a huge community of 300,000 educators from all over the world. Together, there is so much knowledge of Adobe, teaching and learning, and education. As leaders in the community, you have an influential voice and have contributed valuable resources to support educators. This group will work on how to facilitate more participation on EdEx and how to grow the community. Key questions for this group include, but are certainly not limited to: “How do AELs help support and prepare other teachers to eventually replace, replicate, and build off of past successes?” Similarly, how should a new member to EdEx and to the AEL group navigate the space? What is needed to support them? How can AELs be mentors and guides in this experience and the experience of things like content curation and resource sharing?

Professional Development

AELs have been key participants, contributors, and leaders in Adobe's professional development programming. Workshops, Online Courses, Teaching Resources, and Webinars all make up a diverse offering of learning experiences on EdEx. This group will focus on discussing the collaborative course, workshop, and webinar strategy and involvement of AELs for the upcoming year and beyond. What form of professional development can AELs contribute to? What is their role? What type of content and learning experiences can help onboard educators who are new to Adobe products -- especially those educators at schools who have just started using Adobe? What does professional development on EdEx look like and how can you contribute?
