Pupil Voice Groups

All children in Year 3-6 are involved in our Pupil Voice groups. This gives them the opportunity to give their opinion and take action to improve our school in a number of areas. Each term, children move groups so they can help the school in a different area. We are very proud of their work and that they have the opportunity to have their voices heard.

Love to Read

We all know how important it is to inspire children to read and develop a love of books. We have organsied a range of activities to celebrate reading and books including a readathon, author visit, library visit and World Book Day celebration.

Readathon

Our School Senedd have organised a Readathon beginning today and running until Friday 10th March. Children have been given sponsor forms to bring home today.

On the Friday the 17th February to the 10th of March we will be doing a sponsored readathon for charity. It is for ‘Read for Good’ so they can give books to children in hospital.

We need you to sponsor us to read for a certain amount of time or number of pages and give money for the charity. With the money we will buy books for the hospital and for authors to come in and see them and buy new books for us in school.

  • One pupil in each class will get a book as a prize.
  • 2 pupils in the whole school will get a £5 book token.

Friends of Minera News

We hope the children are enjoying being helpful at home and earning 20p a job to help fill their Smartie tubes. Could you please return these after the half term holiday.

It would be lovely to see some photos of the children doing their jobs - please email them to school.

Spending the money you raise:

We have recently bought some equipment for the Nursery & Reception class and we have had a request for money to fund playground markings and buy equipment for outdoor play. The more money we raise, the more we can buy for the children.
