TREY HEATON Performer | educator

Bio

A native of Seneca, South Carolina, Trey Heaton is a trombonist and young music educator perusing a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at The University of Georgia.

At the University, Trey participates in many ensembles including the University of Georgia Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Trombone Choir, Redcoat Marching Band, African American Choral Ensemble, and the Hodgson Trombone Ensemble. Trey recently departed his position at the Oconee Winds wind ensemble, where he was the principal for 3 years.

Trey's instructional background includes private and group instruction in trombone as well as the marching arts, specializing in the visual and brass captions.

Some of Trey's notable appearances include the University of Texas at Austin's Art of Conducting and Rehearsing workshop in June of 2022, as well as advancing to the semi-final round of the S.E. Shires solo competition at the 2022 Southeast Trombone Symposium where he performed in June of 2022. Most recently Trey completed a tour with the Prague Summer Nights Festival where he toured the Czech Republic during the months of June and July, 2023.

Private instruction

Lessons are offered in-person or virtually through online platform.

Summer lessons are scheduled on a case-by-case basis.

Marching Arts (Brass, Visual captions)

Trey specializes in the visual and brass captions and is open for booking for Summer 2024 group clinics and camp staffing.
