The winds were strong, but that didn’t deter our members! Drivers tackled the Mansell (C) 3.4-mile configuration. Despite battling powerful winds, our drivers and guests persevered and both were rewarded with some fantastic racing on the Mansell (C) 3.4-mile configuration. It was great to welcome back some familiar faces including Greg Nitzkowski and Renee West of the Miata Division and Wayne Swanson of the LSR-Rookie class.

We were honored to have representatives from Radical UK unveil the redesigned 2017 Radical SR8. It was the first time the final production form was seen in public. Several members were offered the opportunity to drive the new SR8 and and the reviews were spectacular!

We had a great turnout in the LSR Division. Spectators witnessed impressive passes, a few spins and great racing throughout the weekend. Ron Fletcher, Patrick Liddy, and Indy Al Miller put on a particularly spirited show on Saturday. They raced hard, trading places several times, all while racing clean.

The Miata class was exciting as always. On Friday, a “Battle of the Gregs” developed! Gregg Gorski and Greg Nitzkowski fought for first in their division. Ultimately, Gorski finished on top after the hard fought battle. He also finished first on Saturday, adding to his lead in the championship.

Although the Lotus group canceled their Friday race, they still ran a fun, seven lap race on Saturday. Monica Carlson set the fastest lap of the race with an impressive time of 2:29.539! Congratulations to our Lotus drivers who are always enjoyable to watch.
