Bringing the Mound Key Story to Land Escampaba The Kingdom of Carlos

Mound Key State Archeological Site

  • Whole island is 4,400 cubic feet
  • Island is inhabitant by three mounds
  • Sand and shells were used to create this island
  • Due to flat landscape it's rare to see these hills

Koreshan Unity

  • Sirius Ceresh Doctor T died in 1908
  • Doctor T was placed in a copper bathtub to be resurrected
  • The land was bought and turned into a very industrious area
  • In 1961 the last four members gave up their property and wealth to the state of Florida. Because of them Mound Key was saved.

Gems of Mound Key

Glass, beads, refined earthenware and China was found on the island
  • Ponge de Leon brought freed slaves, women and different people
  • He was chased away by hostile Indians in eastern Florida
  • There where Caribbean Indians cussing out ponce de Leon
