Children in Need and Anti-bullying week

The theme for Children in Need this year is 'Be Spotacular'. Friday 18th November will therefore be a non uniform day and children can come into school wearing spots. Anti-bullying week starts on Monday 14th November. To mark anti-bullying week we will also be asking children to wear odd socks on Friday 18th. Voluntary donations to Children in Need can be made through ParentPay using the following link: https://app.parentpay.com/ParentPayShop/Foc/Default.aspx?shopid=9343

Dates for your diary (including Christmas!)

We can now confirm that dates of all our remaining Teacher training days. These are Friday 31st March, Monday 24th July and Tuesday 25th July. School will be closed to pupils on all these days.

We can also confirm the following Christmas performance dates:

Tuesday 6th December @9.15am: Reception (school hall)

Thursday 8th December @1.45pm and 6pm : Years 1 and 2 (school hall)

Thursday 15th December @1.30pm and 6pm: Years 3-6 (Neeld Hall)

Attendance

Please can we confirm that children should be arriving at school between 8.40am and 8.50am. If children arrive in class after this time they are recorded as late on our system.

Good attendance is vital for all our pupil's learning and we are delighted to have seen a significant improvement since the pandemic. As part of our process, at the end of term 2 we will send letters to parents of children whose attendance is below 90%. This is the national level for 'persistent absence' and equivalent to about 7 days away from school by the end of Term 2. If you are worried about your child's attendance or need any support at all please do not hesitate to contact us.
